The window has a home

A nice surprise, came home today to find the final wall has been framed up, all that horrible lattice is gone and the window fitted temporarily for now.

The Rain Room

That bit of painting was done 2 weeks ago. Since then Victoria's drought has broken, I mean it's hardly rained here for 10 years and as soon as I start an outdoor project the drought breaks!!

In the meantime I have been searching for a door as the last section of the room cannot be framed up without having the measurements of the door. Then the last 2 walls can be stopped up and painted at the same time.

At last I found one on eBay, somewhere in the region of 100 years old, although it did take a 3 hour round trip to collect it but they don't make 'em like this anymore.

The Steel Guy has also finished the custom made brackets which just need a couple of coats of external lacquer to stop any rusting

Same drill as before.. patching and sanding

Textured Acrylic Render in Dulux "European Stone"

1st coat - this time with the short nap roller... didnt seem to cover as well

so had to do 2nd & then a 3rd coat to get an even fnish

You pretty much have to sleep anywhere you can at the moment

Texture Acrylic Render Feature Wall

Finally I get to add some colour, I choose to use the same texture acrylic as previously used on the brick wall but in a "finer" finish and in the same colour - Dulux "Braid"

The 1st coat was done with a Medium Texture roller cover which did a good job hiding the imperfections and joins

The 2nd coat was applied with a short nap roller cover to create the look of a fine render
